This is a 1962 Porsche 356 Twin Grille Roadster in Ruby Red. The 1962 Roadster is one of the most unique and rare 356 variants Porsche ever made. It was built by the well-known Belgian coachbuilder D'Iteren. Only 249 roadsters were built in 1962. This was the year the rear deck lid was changed from a single grille to a double grille to obtain more air for more powerful engines. Unique features of the D'Iteren Roadsters besides the twin grille and aluminum windshield frame on this 356, includes a special fuse cover, chassis numbered fuel filler door and doors numbered on the bottom.

This particular Twin Grille Roadster was purchased by Jim Kellogg in early 1983. Jim Kellogg restored this car especially for his wife. The Twin Grille Roadster was complete with the original engine but needed a restoration. The Roadster was completely disassembled and restored by Jim and was then painted its original Ruby Red by Tom Conway of Carquip in Boulder, Colorado. The interior was purchased from Autos International in California and installed by an experienced upholstery shop. The engine was rebuilt by Ron Appleton in Boulder, Colorado. The restoration of Twin Grille Roaster 89621 and other 356 restorations led to Jim Kellogg opening his world renowned 356 only restoration shop 356Restore in Parker, Colorado. Along with his book Porsche 356 Guide to Do-It-Yourself Restoration which has sold over 4,000 copies and is used by both professional and amateur restorers alike. The restored Roadster made its first appearance at the 356 Registry West Coast Holiday in Steamboat Springs, Colorado in 1991. Since then it has been driven to various 356 Registry Holidays across the west coast and southwest. It participated in many Rocky Mountain Porsche 356 Club events over the years and has won Concours awards. This car is ready to be enjoyed.
