Cooper Classics has the pleasure of presenting one of the rarest Porsche 356s on the market. This Convertible D Super is one of 477 Supers built for 1959. This car wears an older, excellent quality restoration that has benefited from thousands of dollars of reconditioning, servicing, and maintenance by its prior Porsche Enthusiast owner. The car was delivered new to a Franklin Page of Florida- it then went to California. Afterwards, it went to Upstate NY where it resided for 40 years. We purchased it from its most recent owner, a Porsche Aficionado in Massachusetts who had it for 6 years. The interior and top are both as new and in excellent condition, with one of the best fitting Top Covers we have ever seen on a 356. The car starts up with ease, and shifts through all gears smoothly. It drives excellently and benefits from a recent engine rebuild by GN Engineering (with records) less than 5000 miles ago. Not only is this a factory, matching numbers 1600 Super Engine, but it was rebuilt by GN Engineering to SC specifications, making it a very powerful engine, yet still retains its matching number original engine. Famed transaxle specialist Vic Skirmants rebuilt the transmission in 2019. All 4 wheels are date stamped 59, and the panels have the last two digits of the chassis number stamped on them.
