Monica Stevenson

“Equine and Sporting Life”

Cooper Classics Collection hosts an exhibition of photographs that demonstrates the power, beauty, athleticism and grace of horses, animals and sport.  This body of work represents years of travels to shoot the glory and power of polo, dressage, jumpers, and other horse disciplines.  Polo matches in St. Moritz, West Palm Beach, Montreal and Bridgehampton are all represented here, as well as smaller clubs in the New York/New Jersey area.

Monica Stevenson is a commercial and fine art photographer based in New York City.  She photographs commercial still lifes in her Manhattan studio for clients such as Tiffany’s, Saatchi and Saatchi, Forbes’ FYI, Fortunoff Jewelry, and House and Garden Magazine.  Her fine art horse work takes her all over the globe and has been exhibited in various locations in New York City and the surrounding area.

To produce this body of work, Monica has traveled to both the playgrounds of the rich and famous as well as obscure locales in order to record equine sport with intimacy and passion.  The black and white photographs are toned a velvety sepia and transcend time and date.  Skin, fur, steam, ice, snow, water, musculature – all rendered in exquisite detail.

Monica has a horse of her own, a Dutch Warmblood, which she stables in Lebanon Township, NJ.
