This 1968 280SL is White with a Black Interior, Black Soft Top, and White hardtop. This is a Eurupean model 280SL features the rare and highly desirable factory ZF 5-Speed Transmission. Elliot Cuker, the owner of our company, purchased this car from a neighbour of his in The Hamptons. The neighbour was a widow who sold the car about 3 years after her husband passed away. The car has 26,000 kilometers, and we have no confirmation that this is the original mileage. We were told that he had purchased it from the previous owner who brought it over to this country. The car sat for 3 years before we purchased the car. The car was in excellent original condition; however, we decided to refurbish all of the chrome, repaint the car, and do a complete interior and new top. Additionally, we had the car gone through mechanically and it car drives as well as any 280SL can drive. Because of the 5-Speed design it adds a dimension to it that is truly remarkable. While this is not a total "nut and bolt" restoration it is still an excellent example of a very rare, original, and desirable ZF 5-Speed 280SL.
