If you are in the market for an exquisite classic that will transport you comfortably to your destination, look no further. Citroen has always been known for their comfortable cars and this DS21 is no exception. The large couch like seats are among the most comfortable ever placed inside a vehicle, and when coupled with the factory original hydropneumatic suspension makes for a plush ride that will absorb the bumps on the roughest roads you may encounter while driving this rare classic.
This 1970 (titled as a 1966) Citroen DS21 is an excellent older restoration yet still maintains a lustrous black paint job. The interior is like new and the car has been gone through mechanically. The odometer reads 78,000 miles, and judging by the condition we believe this to be original miles. The previous owner was in Dutchess County, NY and had an extensive collection, the complete collection was sold off and the Citroen was part of this sale.
There are many new parts on the Citroen. The car has new suspension "Spheres" as well as a new main brake accumulator. Some of the other recent service includes; a rebuilt carburetor, full tune up, new fuel sender, drive belts, electronic ignition, headlight switch, hydraulic system flush and fill using the correct LHM fluid, new fuel pump, and lines, a/c.
The Citroen is a superb driving car, with ahead of its time adjustable ride height and self leveling suspension, the car will corner well on twisty roads and glide over potholes like you were riding on a cloud. The 4spd on the column transmission shifts smoothly and the car is very easy to drive, with ample braking and hydraulic assisted power steering. |
