This 1957 Mercedes 190SL
is an excellent frame off rotisserie restoration in Black over a
Red interior and Black convertible top. This is the original color
combination for the car. The car was owned by an enthusiast for
the past twenty years. He had the body taken off the frame, put
on a rotisserie and taken down to bare metal and sandblasted. The
engine was removed and completely rebuilt as well as the transmission.
The interior and chrome were also completely redone. Nothing was
left untouched and as such the car presents as a very complete and
very well done restoration. The owner kept nearly every check and
repair order for all the work that was done and all those receipts
will come with the car. When we got the car the paint was good,
but we wanted to take it to the next level so we had the car completely
repainted in its original color of black. The car currently sports
Mikuni Carburetors, a welcome performance upgrade that give the
car excellent performance. Recently we fully detailed the engine
and tuned it. The car is one of the strongest running, best driving
190SLs we have seen. Overall this is an excellent example of a 190sl
with a fully documented restoration that is presented in a very
attractive and desirable original color combination. |
