 Randy Bloom

“Fields and Highways”

After 20 years of running Cooper Classics - the world renowned car emporium, Elliot Cuker presents the opening of The Cooper Classics Collection. This gallery, at 137 Perry St. (in charming Greenwich Village) constantly features a combination of both art and classic cars.  For his next exhibition, Elliot Cuker is pleased to present, “Fields and Highways” – new paintings by Randy Bloom, curated by Peter A. Bradley.

Teeming with color, Randy Bloom’s paintings present the viewer with a constant juxtaposition of vibration and stillness.  From a distance the paintings’ bright lines cling to their colorful canvases, but to see the same lines up close is to witness the dancing texture so well employed by Bloom.  A perfect fusion of minimalism and color field, each painting imparting depth and passage—a visual highway of movement carrying the eye through field after field of chromatic variation…

Complimenting these subtleties of movement and voyage are the restored collectible classic automobiles arranged like sculpture throughout the gallery whose own sleek lines of movement lend an imaginative climax to this collection of dynamic paintings.

Bloom’s paintings have been exhibited at a wide array of galleries.  Locally, Bloom’s work has been featured at Tribes Gallery in Manhattan, in addition to many other local and regional exhibitions.  Globally, Randy Bloom paintings have been shown in galleries in Japan, South Africa, Botswana, and Italy.  His paintings are being shown concurrently at Lord and Taylor.
