Cooper Classics is delighted to present an exquisite Mercedes-Benz that we know very well. This is a stunning, comprehensively restored 1967 250SL, which is one of 112 250SLs equipped as per the supplied MB Data Card (Option Code 230) with the incredibly desirable ZF 5 Speed Transmission. The ZF 5 Speed, when factory equipped to a 250SL is a transformative experience. The car performs much more like a proper sports car (as opposed to a grand touring car), with acceleration  and shifting points that are exactly where they should be. The 5th gear enables relaxed highway cruising, which is not the case with automatic, or 4 Speed manual SLs. This 250SL has been the lucky recipient of a full, comprehensive, documented restoration that was performed in 2007, which included all aspects of the cosmetics, interior, mechanical, and the body of the car including the floors. The owner of the car who performed this restoration had the car for about 10 years and had it serviced by the best Mercedes Technicians, including Alex Dearborn, who also owned the car as well. We then acquired the car and sold it to its most recent owner, who owned it, enjoyed it, and perfected it during his near decade love affair with this car. The most recent owner we acquired the car from, chasing perfection, stripped the car to bare metal and repainted the car in beautiful Dunkel Blau in 2015 at a cost of over $40,000, and 225 man hours. This glass out paint job is documented with extensive photos and receipts. The result is a 250SL that appears factory showroom fresh, as if it was on the showroom floor in 1967. The interior is as new with beautiful red leather and carpet that looks like it was installed last year. The Kinder seat is in as new condition. Both tops are as new. All the body panels are stamped with numbers matching the chassis with photo documentation. The car retains its fender notches and all spot welds as it should. Since then, the car has been serviced at SL-Tech in Maine and other MB experts, and comes with a plethora of servicing receipts. The Original Radio and Antenna both work perfectly. We have a complete service history from 1978-present. We have seen many SLs at Cooper Classics, and this may be one of the best ones we have seen in recent memory. This SL comes with its factory tool roll, jack, spare wheel, servicing receipts + photos, and original owners manual. Contact us today for one of the finest and rarest SLs on the market.
