1957 Mercedes-Benz 190SL
13,000 Original Miles
One Owner - All Numbers Matching
This 13,000 mile 190SL maybe the lowest mileage 190SL in the United States. The car was purchased new by Mrs. Georgiana Slade Reny, of St. Paul, Minnesota. She was the Great Granddaughter of train baron, James J. Hill, founder of the Great Northern Railroad. The car was first delivered to a Studebaker/Packard dealer in South Bend, Indiana as Studebaker/Packard was the official Mercedes-Benz dealer in 1957. She used the car sparingly for shopping and picking up her guests. After many years she gave the car to her son, Charles L. Peet, who eventually titled the car to his home in Ft. Lauderdale Florida.
The car is still in excellent original condition and everything works including the original radio. The front seats have been replaced as well as the carpeting and the car was repainted in its original black color around 1990 but looks as though it were done just a few years ago. After the car was purchased, 10,000 was spent on a complete brake service, new tires, carburetors serviced and tuned up. The compression is like a new car and runs smooth and strong. The car has a beautiful patina and is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
